The Province of Milan (Italian: Provincia di Milano; Western Lombard (non-official): Provincia de Milan/Pruìncia de Milàn) is a province in the Lombardy region of Italy. Its capital is the city of Milan.

It has the third highest population density of the Italian provinces with around 2000 inhabitants/sq km, behind only the provinces of Napoli and Monza e Brianza. The province is heavily urbanised, aside from the Parco Sud Milano, which is preserved for agricultural use. The creation of a new province of Monza e Brianza separated from the Province of Milan in 2009 aims to create a cohesive administrative urban council which reflects modern day Milan's needs better than the small city limits of the comune. It can be seen as a step towards an Île-de-France style of city administration in which the city limits effectively are extended to cover the province. This is needed as at present, there is no administrative body which deals with the whole of Milan urban area, let alone Metropolitan area.

It has an area of 1,575  km², and a total population of 3,127,047 There are 134 comuni in the province.

The largest comune, after Milan, is Abbiategrasso. Sesto and Cinisello have a lot more inhabitants, but they are smaller. Map locating Province of Milan
